I miss you, Elvis. Can’t wait for your song to be finished! Oh! Who am I kidding! EVERY song is about you!

Peter Asher grew forth from a decade that changed so fast in such a short amount of time. Much like the 1960’s, Asher’s career went everywhere from a child actor, musician, scholar, a&r, record producer, and label executive; there’s really nothing in the music realm that Asher hasn’t tried.
Asher goes into detail about his career from his Peter & Gordon days, his friendship with Paul McCartney, Apple Corps, and his post-apple days working with James Taylor.
Tim Heidecker, Gregg Turkington, and I talking about The 5TH Element. My favorite movie of all time.
My great friends making great music together!
Here is the final version of Jake’s portfolio submission. Give it a listen!

Brinley Stanovsek - THE TAMBOURINEJosh I also did keyboard! You forgot.
By the way this song is called “Cleanse Song” and it’s originally by Bright Eyes, which is information that Josh also helpfully forgot to include in the original post.
I can’t believe I didn’t reblog this right away…
My latest interview with Rolling Stones Manager/Producer/Image Maker, radio personality, Jack-of-all-trades, coolest-man-alive, Andrew Loog Oldham!!!
By the age of 19, and having years spent working in London’s fashion industry notched into his belt, Andrew Loog Oldham was a 19-year-old already working for Brian Epstein as his eyes and ears in London. Running the publicity for The Bealtes first two singles, ‘Please Please Me’ and ‘From Me To You’, Oldham was tipped off by Peter Jones of the Record Mirror about a band who were making waves at a regular gig in Richmond.
“…I missed (doing publicity), thank god, for Cilla Black, because April the 28th 1963 was the date I saw The Rolling Stones …”
Oldham made the trip to see and hear this band for himself, and within a few days he was their manager.
Never having managed a band before wasn’t a problem…
“…Even though I knew absolutely nothing about the technical things about producing a record, I would be best person to go into the studio with them for the very simple reason that there was no fear, we were the same age, we all knew as little as each other, and we’d all be able to just get on with it. We were all capable of f$*#@ing up around each other without being embarrassing….”
Oldham goes on to give a taste of his incredible knowledge and insight about his extensive career producing, recording, writing, and living all over the world.
Currently, Andrew Oldham is a host on “Little Steven’s Underground Garage” on Sirius XM.
Volume 2 of The Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra will be out early this summer as well as his third published book, “Stone Free”, completing the triography of his autobiographical series of books.
